What should I do after a car accident?

If you’re in need of immediate medical attention due to severe injuries after an auto accident, call 911. For injuries that aren’t life-threatening, call the police to file an accident report, call your insurance company, and make an appointment with Rocky Mountain Accident Care as soon as possible. The staff specializes in the following services:

    • Physical evaluations performed by a highly trained physical therapist
    • Medical evaluations
    • Imaging and other diagnostic services
    • Injury treatment/medications

    • Referrals for imaging, specialist, pain management, orthopedics

What should I expect during my first appointment?

When you arrive at Rocky Mountain Accident Care, a member of the medical team will go over your medical and accident history and complete a physical examination.

Medical Imaging Tests

Depending on the type of injury you’ve suffered, your provider may recommend an imaging test, such as an MRI scan, a CT scan, or X-rays.

Conservative Treatments

Your doctor will likely recommend conservative therapies first such as physical therapy.   Which may involve massage, dry needling, heat or ice treatment, ultrasound therapy, interferential stimulation, or laser therapy.

Medications

After an evaluation, your doctor may recommend oral or topical medications or injections to relieve pain, relax your muscles, improve sleep, or decrease inflammation.

Referrals

The experienced medical team at Rocky Mountain Accident Care might refer you to specialists as needed for orthopedic injuries, soft tissue or nerve injuries, a brain injury, or surgery if it’s necessary to maximize your quality of life. Your provider will refer you to the most qualified specialists in the Denver Metro Area and coordinate with other providers to ensure you receive the high-quality care you deserve.

7.  Store everything in a folder

You’ll want to keep all accident-related paperwork stored in a folder. This includes any receipts for auto repairs, any and all medical bills, as well as W-2s from your employer to show missed time at work.

What To Do After An Auto Accident

It is important to see a physical therapist soon after a collision/incident.
Waiting to “see what happens” could delay your healing process.
Additionally, it is important to have medical documentation as soon as
possible after the collision/incident to establish how your injuries were
caused and to formulate a treatment plan that will maximize your
recovery.
